Phenomenal Radio is a legally licensed ASCAP, BMI, SESAC & SoundExchange internet radio station broadcasting 24/7 from Lubbock, Texas.

The Story:

Phenomenal Radio was established in 2007. Its start began at KSTQ Hot 97.3 “Lubbock's #1 for Hip-Hop, R&B y Mas" initiating the spot light of underground artists throughout Lubbock, TX and surrounding cities (known as the 806 Movement) which began the first indie spot light hour on a radio station ever in the West Texas region. KSTQ's Music Director at the time, Gilbert Saldana, noticed the consistency and dedication in the then local artist Slate Stone, and decided who better to lead the 806 Movement and gave him a call. Slate Stone, an artist on Phenomenal Entertainment with no prior technical radio experience accepted the offer with no pay, which was the birth of Phenomenal Radio.

Over the span of nearly two years Slate StoneSlim The Phenomenon & DJ Rob C controlled the voice of the region via Phenomenal Radio which aired each Sunday from 7pm-9pm. The persistent marketing of Phenomenal Radio by Slate and Slim launched the ratings of KSTQ Hot 97.3 and made the 806 Movement Show the highest rated, most listened to show on the station.
Phenomenal Radio reached listeners from all over the West Texas region covering airwaves of over 300,000+ listeners. KSTQ changed frequencies from 97.3 to 104.3 in 2008 taking on the new slogan "Lubbock's Hottest Hits!" with Phenomenal Radio continuing to be a major factor in its success. After almost two years of Phenomenal Radio, Ramar Communications (the home of KSTQ) decided to obtain the rights to Texas Tech sports from GAP Broadcasting. As a result, Ramar announced via Tech Talk on Fox Talk 950 AM that Hot 104.3 would be changing formats to an all sports station in the Summer of 2009.

Despite the transition of their station to Tech Talk 104.3, Phenomenal Radio continued their heart felt push. Phenomenal Radio found a new home on Hobbs, NM radio station KLMA 96.5 and was quickly syndicated beginning in 2009. Once the syndication phased out, Phenomenal Radio made its way to Live365.com generating 1000+ listeners an hour from streams located all over the globe during "The Live Show” which led to its hosts obtaining an additional hour for the show which was dubbed “The 2nd Hour Indie Spotlight" which showcases independent artists from all over the world. Live365.com then opened the door to Phenomenal Radio's current residence at PhenomRadio.com.

Phenomenal Radio is an independent, online station that continues to showcase music from all over the world with many more advancements in the works.
