Surpass Flavor, who was born out of 90’s hip hop, proved he could make contemporary, Generation Next hip-hop while maintaining the thread of a purist. In one 6-track EP, Surpass Flavor went from a Denver-classic to a Denver-mainstay. With the concept of his new EP Over/Under taking shape, Surpass Flavor now sets out for his toughest task yet, building on his buzz and executing the EP’s preface.
The pit boss turned rapper keeps with casino references, as Over/Under is a play on sports books as well as the contrast between radio rap and underground hip-hop in which the emcee attempts to craft songs for both genres.Surpass Flavor acknowledges the potential risks yet holds steadfast to the challenge.
